Three days two nights in beautiful Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. Sensual Nature and founder, Shelley May Petra, are pleased to invite you to explore your sensual nature through winter, hotsprings, and the Crone archetype. We will come together in the deep of winter to find the nourishment for mind body and soul. Explore the dark side of the feminine mysteries and the wisdom of the wild sleeping earth. Learn more about the soul healing nature of Mama Earth and her cycles. Daily workshop, yoga, and a sweat. We will enjoy the local hotsprings in the quiet of the winter. Vegan meals prepared with love will be provided each day.
What is the Crone archetype?
She is the wise one, the one who heals herself, knows the power of rest and rebirth and is not afraid to let things that do not serve her, die. The Crone is the one who goes within. She cleans house, stokes the inner hearth and ignites big love. She knows that her love for herself will overflow to others. As she embraces death and rest, she creates room for change to come and spring return.
There are three faces of the triple Goddess, the maiden, the mother and the crone. The Feminine Divine Mystery School is an exploration of these archetypes, plus the addition of the Wild Woman (who, within and without has been suppressed for centuries, even millennia, See her break loose in Part 4.) Part One of the Feminine Divine Mystery School, The Winter Weaver, has us focus on the Crone archetype. You don’t have to be in the Crone phase of your life to access the magic of it. Each month, whether you cycle with your own moon bleed, or you cycle with the moon itself, you have a chance to access the power of the Crone. (this applies to all who identify as feminine, you have access to the feminine cycles whether you have a womb or not, whether you bleed or not.)
The Winter Weaver is the Crone who weaves in the stars. She is the one, who in the darkness begins the process of cleansing and clearing the universal womb to create a new place for growth. The Winter Weaver can help you weave the kind of tapestry of life you would like to see manifest this year.
What you will get from this retreat is a broader understanding of how you can access this deep power in your own life. You will be supported in igniting a inner hearth of self love. You will get to dust out the cobwebs, sweep out the old and be ready for change and new beginnings. You will discover inner gifts in the dark places of your self and learn ways those gifts can serve you. You will gain deeper access to your own inner wisdom and intuition.
What is a sweat lodge?
A sweat lodge is a low profile hut, typically dome-shaped or oblong, and made with natural materials. The structure is the lodge, and the ceremony performed within the structure may be called a purification ceremony or simply a sweat.
Our sweat lodge facilitator and water pourer, Stephanie, has been trained in her people’s traditions. She is a Sundancer and pipe carrier under the Lakota Sioux People. During the lodge she will help us access the wisdom of the earth and our ancestors. We will have a chance to let go of what does not serve us, both through physical sweat and spiritual release. When we come out of the lodge we will be symbolically reborn and ready for new relations, a renewal of old relations, and have space for new beginnings.
Explore the cycles of the Feminine:
Related to the three archetypes of the triple Goddess and the 4 seasons are the cycles of the feminine. Much of what we do at this retreat will be based in the wisdom of Mama Earth and we will learn how we can use it to cycle through our own lives more connected to the Feminine Divine. Learn more about the feminine cycle of the moon and how to access it, gain wisdom from it and live a life more suited to the feminine. When we understand our cycles and live in tune with them we become powerful. If you are a woman or identify as woman, this understanding can change your life. If you are a man knowing more about the feminine cycles can give you understanding and tools to support the women in your life. The benefits of understanding feminine cycles are for all people and will help us create a world equal in value, and different in gender. Learn where and when your power can be accessed from within.

About Shelley May Petra
Shelley is a woman wilding. She is a Creatrix, an adventuress, a designer of life and landscapes. She’s a guide-ess, a witch, and a channel for the Feminine Divine. She is the mother of three children whom she finds challenging and inspiring. Shelley has been an entrepreneur for 20 years.
Shelley is the founder of Sensual Nature, supporting your connection to your sensual nature and your soul’s purpose. She is hostess of the Feminine Divine Mystery School, and owner of Organic Earth Designs. She has been an entrepreneur for 17 years with several successful businesses and failures. She is a Certified Dream Coach® through Dream University and a student of Marcia Weider, America’s Dream Coach®. She spent a year in Dream University’s The Meaning Institute®, lead by Marcia.
Shelley is a practiced yogini and has been leading Yoga and Yoga trance dance for 11 years. She also teaches sacred sensual movement in the form of tribal fusion belly dance. Shelley is a outdoor enthusiast and has climbed and coached climbing for 18 years. She incorporates her favorite adventures into My Sensual Nature retreats and workshops, and into her Dream Coaching®.
Shelley has also been studying the sacred flow of the feminine under the tutelage of Lisa Lister and several of her ShePower® programs. These programs, her own experience as a woman and her close connection to Mama Earth have given Shelley great insight on the rhythms and cycles of the feminine. She incorporates this into all her teachings.
Perhaps the most important facet of Shelley May Petra is her self-ownership. Life can not force her into a mold. She molds herself. Shelley was raised in the West, exploring deep canyons and high mountain ranges with her large family. She grew into her gifts as an avid rock climber and canyoneer, artist and leader. Nature schooled her steps and she discovered wisdom in its subtly and determination in the challenge. Lessons that guided her to the summits of The Grand Teton, Pingora and the Wolf’s Head. She gave birth to three children and started her own businesses with the same pertinacity learned from Nature.
Outward accomplishment is a mirror of her inward journey. Shelley matured in a culture and religion steeped in patriarchy, She walked paths of deep shame for her femininity and natural sensuality. Her journey of self acceptance is an ongoing road of peaks and valleys, but simultaneously of enlightenment. Looking back on these experiences, the sages and teachers that lined the way, a human kinship distilled in her mind. She began to reach out to people of all walks.
She learned to be a healer and advocate for the feminine divine. She is a belly-dancer, an imperfect mother, a disappointing daughter. She is a crone, a maiden, a mother and a wild woman. She harvests wisdom from each of these archetypes, and owns them, good and bad, light and dark. Then shares her understanding with others. She is reaching out to you. Join her in the wilding.

Joshua Roberts is the host of Enlightened Outdoor Podcast and founder of The Enlightened Outdoor Experience. Josh is an inspiring speaker and guide. His many years of wild adventures have not only given him wisdom, but amazing stories to tell as well. He has trained under Marcia Weider in her year long school, The Meaning Institute of Dream University. He also completed a year long entrepreneur and business training program. He has done many personal development courses over the years. Joshua offers a deeper connection to self through nature, discovery and mindfulness. Joshua holds big and powerful space for the feminine. His love for Mama Earth lives deep in his soul and mirrors his love for the women in his life. He is an attentive father and an incredibly loving partner. He is a champion for the feminine and supports Her cycles, hoping to create a society and culture that does too.
